Just an idea I got
Right, I know this clan has a horse specialisation and some might use it. But me being a Katana or Naginata fan doesn't use it all and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Whilst at the moment it isn't the biggest problem yet, but as soon as my veteran units start levelling up it will be annoying. This being, I can't get the full strength out of my unit. And also the Specialisation skill of the clan can actually be quite useful when used(less dying and more points or something).
So perhaps it is possible to start another Kami no Something clan, but then with either a Sword or Spear specialisation. Still use this forum and whatnot, still be in the groupchat(if anybody is in it all), but just with another clan specialisation.
And despite being a mediocre player *kuch*read this post by Life Pilgrim*kuch*, I would appreciate it if one would think about it.

Hi
i am just giving my reasons too, so no offence. There are two points why its not a good idea to set up a new clan. First, It will Separate our clan members into two, which will suffer in ranking in terms of clan war. Cause less people playing for one clan = less points. Second, its hard for both clan to stay united because we will have to meet each other in online battles. Speak freely if you think i am wrong.

I've found it doesn't make a huge difference. Also, I would encourage you to try using cavalry and the clan retainer a bit more. Even if you prefer an infantry heavy army, cav is (in my opinion) essential to winning, especially as you meet more and more skilled opponents. I'll save some of my tactical ideas for another thread Ill post soon when I have the time. But I would also advise against a split. While useful, the clan specialization is by no means necessary. Play as you wish, the cavalry specialization is a great way for the clan to offer something slightly different, as I would assume it will not be the most popular clan specialization choice.

Re: Just an idea I got
Does the clan ranking give any bonus whatsoever? Except say we are rank blabla? And meeting each other in battle, wouldn't that be awesome?
As for playing more with cavalry, why would I do that? I play the game to enjoy myself and I what I enjoy the most is the clashing of Katana or Naginata samurai. Might sound a bit selfish but I do play this to enjoy myself.
I kinda already knew what most answers were going to be like when I asked the question. But thought: 'Why not give it a shot.'

Same reason you try a new dish at a restaurant. You may end up loving it.

True, I might do that. However if you already know the restaurant very well. You will know what you like and what you dislike. Dare I say touché here?

No we're not going to start a new clan. Members who prefer other specialization are free to decide whether he wants to leave or stay
I've posted this some time back,
On clan's cavalry specialization,
When we set out on March 10th 2011 it was agreed that the clan would specialize on katana. However somehow someone who activated the clan first chose the cavalry specialization which was then would be our last choice than the others.
Now we think there's good in it in the end. Cavalry makes people nervous since it's good against anything but spearmen and nervous people make all kind of mistakes because they are distracted. They are also highly mobile thus able to dictate engagement as well as very useful to gain and maintain initiative which is always important and could prove critical in both offensive and defensive situations and they are absolutely deadly in charge and the most perfect unit for flanking attacks. And they could dismount too when necessary making them still useful when taking castles. The cons is that they are relatively expensive to get and low in numbers and require some notable skills and some baby sitting using them for maximum effect failing which they could become a liability in battle. But they are the most suitable shock units for good aggressive battlefield commander if not the best shock unit in the whole game which in my opinion they are.
Other thing is this that most clan would specialize on katana or swords and you have the rock, scissor & paper play out. Cav specialization will be rare that they become more effective since katana would be the majority and since cav would be rare thus the less reason to choose spear specialization. But nonetheless for dealing with spear specialization the katana samurai could be used against them and cavalry is rather versatile. Cavalry could be used against archer, katana and even against other cavalry especially the ones without specialization and buffs. It could even be used against spearman by flanking charge attack especially from behind and would only took seconds before enemy routs when flanked from behind by charging cavalry.
But I admit cavalry specialization would not be the most comfortable specialization for reasons I have pointed. Arguably mediocre players would be most comfortable with sword specialization since they would not need to baby sit them as much and could contend watching their katana units to hold on their own when engaged by other infantry units on his initiative or otherwise without too much worry(I personally preferred katana specialization as I am mediocre). Thus cavalry admittedly in my opinion is best suited for good aggressive battlefield commander who are full of initiative than for most mediocre players. I don't recommend going full cavalry though. Personally I prefer a more balanced army composition unless you have mastered some peculiar tactics to win with most cavalry army which I doubt and it could backfire badly if you meet a capable player.
And though Cavalry specialization may prevent some people from joining us because they prefer Katana specialization but on the other hand it will attract more experienced and aggressive players who usually prefer cavalry specialization.
In the end I would like to say that it might be a mistake to have a cavalry specialization but it could turn out to be a brilliant mistake.
Yours respectfully,
Life Pilgrim
